Online Advanced Listening Course

Advanced Listening is a twelve-week course which consists of six units based on engaging themes: Learning, Health, Work, Science and Nature, People, and Food. Each unit features a Listening for Ideas lesson, a Listening to Sounds lesson, and a Grammar lesson with video. These lessons, and the assignments that follow each one, are delivered using radio documentaries, interviews and debates, presentations, and video dramatizations. Students are guided in comprehending this challenging listening material by graphics, carefully crafted questions with immediate computer feedback, and vocabulary development exercises. A tutor provides personalized written feedback and marks for the assignments that the student submits electronically. A certificate of participation is awarded to students who successfully complete the course.

Technical Requirements

You must be using a computer with at least:

Internet Explorer 6 or 7 (or higher) or Firefox (any version) with JavaScript enabled.
A modem speed of 56kbps, although high-speed Internet is recommended for the Listening courses.
Windows Media Player and speakers/headphones.
